Theroof of three-storey factory collapsed at Baba Mukand Singh Naga on Daba Roadin Ludhiana on Monday morning.
Theteams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force(SDRF) and police have reportedly reached the spot on time and started therescue operation.
Theteams have rescued 36 workers and at least four are suspected to be trapped.Besides, one worker was declared brought dead at Civil Hospital and five othersare undergoing treatment at the civil hospital only.
DeputyCommissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police also reached thespot to take stock of the situation and ongoing rescue operation.
Asper information, the building was under-construction; however, the teams areyet to ascertain the exact reason behind the building collapse.
Rescueofficials at the site said that efforts were being made to locate the trappedpeople. Police said that a major portion of the building collapsed, partiallydamaging nearby buildings too.
Accordingto the police, most of the injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital here.
