Fans of the dysfunctional community will be ecstatic to see the new trailer, which promises an action-packed adventure/rescue mission unlike any other. On Friday, the first trailer for 'The Suicide Squad' was released, and it features a number of familiar faces making their DCU debut.

On his Twitter account, Gunn shared the trailer, writing,"Our first trailer. Warning: gore & adult language & supervillains & adventure & heart. Can't wait to see it in a theater with all of you on August 6. #TheSuicideSquad."

Gunn, best known for his work on Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' films, will make his first foray into the DC universe with this R-rated project.

The trailer has all of the ingredients for a huge box office hit: promising performances from all of the cast members, enthralling dialogues, suspense, and massive amounts of action.

Pete Davidson, who plays Blackguard on 'Saturday Night Live,' is one of the current cast members. Idris Elba and John Cena also joined the cast as Bloodsport and Peace-Maker, respectively.

Margot Robbie is reprising her role as Harley Quinn, but this time in a red and black leather ensemble, as opposed to the classic T-shirt and shorts she wore in the first film.

Viola Davis reprised her role as government agent Amanda Waller, while Rick Flag was played by Joel Kinnaman, and Captain Boomerang will be played by Jai Courtney.

Director James Gunn's name is all over the trailer, which features strong glimpses of all the actors.

The main plot is still unknown, but the trailer begins with a plan to save Robbie's Harley Quinn, which proves pointless because Harley had already gotten herself out of whatever predicament she was in.

However, one of the most shocking developments in the trailer is that King Shark will be voiced by Sylvester Stallone. There's also the kaiju starfish, which is a giant, colourful starfish that goes on a rampage at the end of the trailer.

The nearly three-minute trailer teases a highly entertaining take on the titular villains-turned-heroes squad. There's a reference to the coronavirus pandemic, many punchlines, and fun new DC characters.

The trailer has it all, from strong background music that complements the trailer's pace to some intense performances. And it's fair to assume that their fans will be treated to a visceral experience.

It appears to be the comic-book movie to watch this year, with a lively tone, playfulness, and mad but intriguing characters that seem to have been taken straight from comic-book panels.

'The Suicide Squad' is a kind of sideways sequel to 'Suicide Squad,' which was released in 2016. David Dastmalchian plays Polka-Dot Man, Alice Braga plays Sul Soria, Daniela Melchior plays Ratcatcher 2, Nathan Fillion plays T.D.K., Mayling Ng plays Mongal, Michael Rooker plays Savant, Peter Capaldi plays Thinker, Sean Gunn plays Weasel, and Flula Borg plays Javelin in the film's ensemble.

Gunn hasn't directed a film since 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' in 2017. Later this year, he plans to start shooting a third 'Guardians' film in London.

'The Suicide Squad,' which promises to be a fun, icky, and chaotic good time, is set to hit theatres and OTT platforms on
August 6th.
