With the BJP massive victory in the Lok Sabha Elections, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday restated at the efforts for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, saying “Ram work has to be done.”

Bhagwat said at an event in Udaipur that RSS is committed to building a glorious Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“Ram ka kaam karna hai, Ram ka kaam ho kar hi rahega (Ram work needs to be done and Ram work will be done). This is our work, so we have to do it ourselves. We have given the responsibility to someone, but will have to keep an eye on it,” Bhagwat said while addressing an event in Udaipur in Rajasthan.

Bhagwat added that “Lord Rama lives in us, so this is our work and we will have to do it.”

The RSS chief statement comes three days after BJP came in power for a second term, winning 303 seats. Though, he asked the people to stay “conscious, peaceful, active and strong.” RSS, the creed mentor of BJP, has continuously called for the construction of Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

The BJP stated clearly in its election manifesto that it would “explore possibilities within the framework of the Constitution and take necessary steps to expedite construction of Ram temple."

Bhagwat, however, on Sunday said, "If we surrender it to someone else, then there will be a need to monitor that person. Ram's work has to be done and it will be done."

The Ayodhya dispute is still pending in the Supreme Court. The mandate conciliation process is under way to resolve the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid Dispute.
