Russia's attack against Ukraine has intensified. British media have feared that Russian President Vladimir Putin may use one of his deadliest weapons, the 'Father of All Bombs', to bring Ukraine to its knees early in the war.

What is the ‘Father of All Bombs”?

Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power nicknamed "Father of All Bombs" is a Russian-designed, bomber-delivered thermobaric weapon.

The bomb is reportedly similar to the US military's GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast which is often unofficially called "Mother of All Bombs" derived from its official military acronym "MOAB".

The thermobaric device yields the equivalent of 44 tons of TNT using about seven tons of a new type of high explosive.

They produce more damage over a larger area than a conventional weapon of similar mass.

This deadly bomb of Russia is about four times more powerful than America's 'Mother of All Bombs'.

How does it work?

This deadly bomb is dropped from a jet, causing it to explode in the air at a height of a few feet above the ground and inflict as much damage as a small nuclear bomb. The specialty of this bomb is that it absorbs the oxygen present in the atmosphere and explodes above the ground.

Did Russia use it earlier?

Russia is accused of using its Father of All Bombs not only against Syria but also against Chechnya. It is believed that Russia can also use these bombs to win the war against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russia and Ukraine were ready to solve the matter through direct talks. Putin said on Monday that Russia is open to negotiations with Ukraine and expressed hope they would lead to the desired result. Also, Russia's armed forces are not striking civilian objects, and do not pose a threat to civilians.
