Kherson Mayor Igor Kolyakhev has confirmed that Russian troops have captured the port city. A video shows a damaged train platform just outside of Kyiv's central train station following a strike Wednesday evening. On the other hand, the office of Ukrainian President Zelensky has given a statement that the fighting is still going on. The US has supplied more than 100 anti-aircraft Stinger missiles to Ukraine.  Top officials of both countries are meeting on the Belarus-Poland border for peace talks. Earlier, Ukraine has demanded that Russia should also be banned on the global Internet so that the propaganda of its lies should be stopped.

In view of the war in Ukraine, America has announced to impose strict sanctions on Belarus along with Russia. The White House has said that exports in the defense sector of Russia and Belarus have been banned.

Meanwhile, The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Thursday clarifying that there was no hostage crisis in Ukraine as the Russian invasion of Kyiv entered the seventh day.

The statement came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they reviewed the situation in Ukraine, especially in the city of Kharkiv where many Indian students are stuck.

They discussed the safe evacuation of the Indian nationals from the conflict areas.
