'Bhagwan ko mantey ho, Bhagwan ko..!' Sacred Games Season 1 nominated for International Emmys 2019

Netflix's first India original Sacred Games was a huge hit. And, now the web series has been nominated for International Emmy Award in the Drama Category. The crime thriller directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikram Motwane will be battling for the spot with Brazil's 1 Contra Todos Season 3, Germany's Bad Banks and United Kingdom's McMafia.

Interestingly, two of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's shows Sacred Games and McMafia have been nominated for the same category.

Neeraj Ghaywan who co-directed Sacred Games 2 along with Anurag Kashyap shared the news on Twitter. He mistook the nomination for Sacred Games 2 and later apologized.

Director Vikram Motwane was elated. He took to Twitter to share the news and wrote, "#SacredGames got Emmy-Nated!!! A massive Congrats, Hug and Kiss to the whole team. You guys are amazing."

Netflix India's first original Sacred Games began streaming from July 6, 2018. The crime thriller is based on Vikram Chandra's novel by the same name and stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte in the lead.
