Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday released its second list of candidates who will fight Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Punjab. SAD's second list included six candidates who will be locking horns with other political party candidates in the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls. After multiple years, SAD has decided to go solo in the Lok Sabha Elections. SAD's Lok Sabha Elections 2024 candidates list included former Union Minister Harsimrat Badal, Mohinder Singh Kaypee, etc. Below is SAD's second list of Lok Sabha Elections 2024-

  1. Jalandhar - Sh. Mohinder Singh Kaypee
  2. Bathinda - Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
  3. Hoshiarpur- S Sohan Singh Thandal.
  4. Ferozepur - S Nardev Singh "Bobby" Mann
  5. Ludhiana - S Ranjit Singh Dhillon
  6. Chandigarh (Union Territory) - Hardeep Singh Saini "Buttrela"

The party ticket for the Khadoor Sahib constituency is yet to be announced. It is pertinent to mention here that from Ferozepur, which is represented by Sukhbir Singh Badal, the party has given the ticket to Nardev Singh Bobby Mann. Sukhbir Badal has already announced that he would not be contesting the Lok Sabha elections this time.

Notably, during his visit to Jalandhar to induct former Congress MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee, SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal had announced that his wife and sitting MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal would be the party’s candidate from Bathinda.

Harsimrat Badal is the former Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Industries in the Government of India. Harsimrat however resigned from the post after SAD broke its ties with the NDA alliance of the BJP. SAD had broken its ties with NDA after the saffron party passed three farm laws (now repealed).

It is pertinent to mention here that SAD-BJP's parley talks failed after Sukhbir Badal remained adamant about the party's agenda and principles. Due to the conflict of principles between both parties, BJP and SAD decided to go solo in the Lok Sabha Polls 2024.
