India's Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu won the 70th Miss Universe beauty pageant, finally bringing back the title home after 21 years. The country is proud and Indian internet users have flooded social media platforms with the appreciation of the reigning Miss Universe.

Before Harnaaz, only two Indian beauties have clinched the crown – Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.

Harnaaz Sandhu wore a gorgeous fitted gown for her last round designed by a trans woman, designer Saisha Shinde. The silver gown, with its beaded details and plunging neckline, stole the show.

From Swapnil to Saisha Shinde, the journey of the designer was full of struggles. Saisha shared a post on her Instagram account, earlier, about her struggles.

In an interview with News18, Saisha Shinde said, “There is a certain expectation from Miss India at an International pageant. She has to look elegant, exquisite and the gowns need to look delicate and dainty but at the same time powerful, strong, which incidentally my brand has become now after I have transitioned into a woman."

"The gown is embellished with embroidery, stones, and sequins. Harnaaz believes in sustainability, so we used embroidery material which was lying around at the studio," she added.

The winning outfit was praised by everyone. Harnaaz won million of hearts after winning the Miss Universe title. She started her journey in pageantry at the age of 17 and there was a time when she became a victim of depression. She shared that, in recent times, she was hospitalized due to ulcers in her stomach and at that time she came across the upcoming events LIVA Miss Diva 2021.
