The family of late star Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala has asked singer-musician Salim Merchant to not go with the release of the song ‘Jandi Vaar. Singer’s family said we have asked Merchant not to release the song earlier as well.

Salim Merchant has announced before to release Moose Wala’s song on September 2nd. The family said if the song is released against our wish, we will take legal action.

The singer was shot dead in the direction of Goldy Brar on 29th May in his home district of Mansa. While informing about the release of the song musician Salim Merchant said the income through the song will be transferred to the late singer’s parents.

The song was recorded in July 2021 in Chandigarh. Marking it as a tribute to Moose Wala the song also features Afsana Khan. The family of Moose Wala hasn’t given the authorization to release the song.

Salim wanted to release the song 3-4 days later to Moose Wala’s death which was put to a halt by the singer’s father Balkaur Singh by sending a voice note to Salim Merchant.

Father Balkaur Singh and the family are now completely dedicated to the fight for Moose Wala's justice.

Monetising or releasing the song without the consent of Moose Wala’s next of kin will be taken as illegal and will pose a problem for those involved through judicial intervention.
