Salman Khan recently made an appearance on Netflix's "The Great Indian Kapil Show" as the very first guest of this comedy talk show. The premiere episode, which was streamed on Saturday, featured the 59-year-old actor speaking openly about his health issues, his views on marriage, wealth, and various other aspects of life.
Salman revealed battling an arteriovenous malformation [AVM], a Brain Aneurysm, and Trigeminal Neuralgia during a light-hearted segment where Kapil Sharma brought up the topic of marriage. While answering Kapil’s question, he provided reflective takes on the emotional and financial consequences of marriage and divorce, adding that starting over at this age wouldn’t be easy. This conversation took a serious turn as the Bollywood star shared about his battle with medical conditions.

In the conversation, while responding to the host, Kapil Sharma’s question about marriage, Salman expressed concern about starting over at this age if a spouse were to take half of his earnings, referencing the financial and emotional consequences of marriage and divorce.
He said, "Hum ye jo daily ki haddiyan tudwa rahe hain, pasliyan toot gai, trigeminal neuralgia ke sath kaam kar rahe hain, aneurysm hai brain mein uske bawajood kaam kar rahe hain. AV malformation hai, uske bawajood chal rahe hain,” providing insights into his medical conditions.
He also added, "All of this is going on in my life. Aur jahan unka mood satka, woh aadha humara leke chala gaya. Ye younger age mein hota toh theek tha, phirse kama lete. Ab wapis se…” expressing his concerns over potential threats to marriage.
Will Salman Khan retire?
Despite the severity of his medical conditions, including trigeminal neuralgia, a brain aneurysm, AV malformation, and recent rib fractures, the Bollywood superstar shows no sign of slowing down, reaffirming his commitment to his acting career. So, the answer to this question is - ‘No’. Even though the actor is going to step into his 60s and is battling various health conditions, he remains diligent towards work and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
About the medical conditions
Salman suffers from trigeminal neuralgia, a brain aneurysm, and AV malformation, as he revealed on the show. These diseases could potentially be life-threatening.
Trigeminal neuralgia, a condition often referred to as the ‘s*icide disease’ due to the intense pain it causes, is a disorder that affects the trigeminal nerve, leading to severe facial pain that can be triggered by simple daily activities like brushing or chewing.
Salman mentioned suffering from this further before in 2017 during a promotional event in Dubai for his film ‘Tubelight’.
While an Arteriovenous malformation [AVM] is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels that disrupts the normal blood flow between arteries and veins, usually in the brain or spine. This can result in serious neurological issues if not managed.
On the other hand, a brain aneurysm is a bulging spot in a weakened blood vessel that can lead to a potentially life-threatening stroke if it ruptures.

Salman recently worked in AR Murugadoss ‘Sikandar’, which is currently streaming on Netflix. He is also likely to appear in Apoorva Lakhia’s movie based on a chapter from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s book, ‘India’s Most Fearless - 3’, which recounts the Galwan Valley clash of 2020. The movie is likely to release in 2026 and stars Chitrangada Singh opposite Salman Khan.
