Dismissing the plea filed by a Pakistani woman Rahila Wakeel, NIA special court acquitted all four accused including Aseemanand in the Samjhauta Express blast case. The decision comes after the Pakistani woman Wakeel had filed an application that NIA had not issued proper summons to the eyewitnesses and cited visa denials from the immigration authorities.

NIA special judge Jagdeep Singh took the decision with lawyer Momin Malik fighting for Rahila Wakeel whose father Muhammed Wakeel died in the Samjhauta Express blasts on February 18, 2007.

A total of 68 people had been killed in the deadly blast. The four accused in the case for allegedly propounding the theory of 'bomb ka badla bomb' were RSS' Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Kamal Chauhan and Rajinder Chaudhary who were allegedly outraged for attacks on various hindu mandirs.
