The YouTube account of Sansad Tv which broadcasts the live proceedings of the Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha was taken down. While many prominent media organisation reported that YouTube terminated Sansda TV for violating the community guidelines, Sansad TV later clarified that it's account was compromised. Sansad TV took to its Twitter handle and issued a clarification on the whole issue.
Sansad TV in its Tweet clarified that its YuTube channel was compromised by scamsters on February 15, therefore YouTube is currently working on the issue to resolve it. In its official statement, it further states that Ethereum by the attackers, however the social media team of the Sansad TV worked promptly and got the channel restored.
It is pertinent to mention here that renaming Sansad TV to Ethereum might be a gesture of protest by the scamsters against the Centre's stance on cryptocurrencies in India. Centre has been firm to regulate cryptocurrency in India. At present, there is no legislature that covers cryptocurrecies in India. However, that does not make cryptocurrency illegal in the country. It simply indicates that there is no regulatory framework to safeguard cryptocurrency owners in the country. However, the private crypto players might be declared illegal in the upcoming bill. Moreover, in the Budget 2022, a hefty 30 percent tax was imposed on digital asset by Union Finance Minister Nirmala SItharaman which was liked by the crypto investors.
