Schedule for RIMC entrance exam announced

The written entrance examination for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun (Uttarakhand) for January, 2023 term will be conducted at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Sector-15, Chandigarh on June 4, 2022 (Saturday).

According to a spokesperson of the Defence Services Welfare department, the applications duly completed must reach Directorate of Defence Services Welfare, Punjab, Sainik Bhawan, Sector 21-D, Chandigarh on or before April 25, 2022. Applications received after April 25, 2022 would not be entertained.

The spokesperson further informed that both boys and girls are eligible to apply for admission to the RIMC, Dehradun. Candidates appearing for the above test should not be less than 11½ years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on January 01, 2023 i.e. they should have been born not earlier than January 02, 2010 and not later than July 01, 2011. They should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC i.e. on January 1, 2023. Selected candidates will be given admission in Class-VIII. The written part of the examination will consist of three papers namely, English, Mathematics & General Knowledge. Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50 percent. The viva-voce test will be held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam & the date for the viva-voce test will be intimated later.

The spokesperson further informed that application forms with prospectus and booklet of old question papers can be obtained by making online payment of Rs.600/- for General Candidates and Rs.555/- for SC/ST candidates on RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in. (On receipt of payment, the prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers will be dispatched by speed post only).

The spokesperson also informed that the prospects-cum-application forms and booklet of old question papers can also be obtained by sending a written request with demand draft of Rs.600/- for General Candidates and Rs.555/- for SC/ST candidates along with caste certificate in favour of The Commandant RIMC, Dehradun payable at SBI, Tel Bhavan (Code-01576) Uttarakhand. Address should be TYPED/WRITTEN clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with pin code and contact number. RIMC will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit of prospectus caused by illegible or incomplete address.


Application in duplicate in prescribed form and three passport size photographs, Birth Certificate, State Domicile Certificate and Certificate from Principal of the school, in original with photograph affixed on it duly attested, stating date of birth and class in which the student is studying and photocopy of the Aadhar Card are required.
