Manish Gupta is happy that the recent release, 'Section 375', has been appreciated for its story, screenplay and dialogue, all written by him.

The writer-director has now been roped in to direct two films, one of which he is also producing. The cast has already given their nod to both the scripts and a formal announcement is expected soon.

Manish has a unique style of filmmaking, where he takes a real-life incident and fictionalises it, into a suspense movie. For example, Section 375 has been inspired by the rape case against actor Shiney Ahuja.

He has previously directed Rahasya (2015), based on the Aarushi murder case, and The Stoneman Murders (2009), which is based on the Stoneman killings.
He had also scripted the story, screenplay and dialogues of 'Sarkar' (2005), which is based on the life of Balasaheb Thackeray.

He says, “It took me three years of extensive research to write 'Section 375'. As a screenwriter, I’ve learnt the craft of intricate plotting by reading Agatha Christie mysteries. And, as a director, I’m influenced by Hollywood filmmaker David Fincher.”
