Mumbai: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday rallied by 96 points to 36,169.79 as buying was witnessed across the board. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 80 points to 10,859.90. The sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,285.46 and 36,110.55 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,893.60 and 10,817.15 points respectively. The sectoral indices like Materials, Bankex, Energy, Realty Industrials, Bankex, Realty and Technologies kept the market firm in early trade.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 1.94 pc to Rs 523.65, Tata Motors by 1.38 pc to Rs 173.15, Tata Motors DVR by 1.31 pc to Rs 93.15 and VEDL by 1.18 pc to Rs 201.75. The losers were Kotak Bank by 0.43 pc to Rs 1239.25, Reliance Industries by 0.32 pc to Rs 1122.20, Coal India by 0.31 pc to Rs 241.60 and HDFC by 0.30 pc to Rs 1974.25.
