Mohali, one of the major city of the tricity, nearly 8 Km away from the city beautiful Chandigarh, is facing a major Garbage crisis, with garbage roaming around the city.
The crisis includes some factors, it might include your activities too.
Lack of Civic Sense
The city is filled with garbage oh the sides of road, it includes the street vendors and their stalls, lots of disposable plates and cups are scattered on the sides of road, which adds beauty to the Garbage crisis.
Patiala ki Rao, a stream which runs through the city is a forgotten water resource and is labelled as Nullah by the locals because the stream tackles heap of garbage. Recently the overbridge was cleaned to some extent, but within two days the garbage was renewed by the locals.
One major reason of Crisis is the lack of coordination between MC Mohali and GMADA. Few news have reported the tussle of not working together to manage waste.
Meanwhile, some steps have also been taken by MC Mohali to tackle the issue.
Mechanical sweeping of A&B roads have started in December. Work order for fresh waste management was issued recently, machineries are being setup.
The most important part is that Challaning of Garbage throwers are being done on daily basis.
