The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm and lightning warning for the region until 3 am on Thursday, April 20th. The warning comes as a result of a severe weather system moving across the region, which is expected to bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes.
In addition to the thunderstorm and lightning warning, the IMD has also issued warnings for strong surface winds and hailstorms in Jalandhar. Residents are advised to take caution while travelling on the roads and to stay indoors if possible.
The IMD has advised people to avoid any kind of outdoor activities during the duration of the warning, as the conditions are expected to be dangerous.
