'Shami tu bohat..': PM Modi cheers up 'emotional' Team India after World Cup 2023 loss
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the dressing room to cheer up Team India after their heartbreaking World Cup 2023 final defeat against Australia.-
Australia on Sunday defeated Team India by 6 wickets at the World's largest Narendra Modi Stadium and became world champions of 50 overs format for the sixth time. Although Team India was termed favorites before the World Cup 2023 final, Australia stepped onto the field with a clear strategy. Courtesy of Travis Head's match-winning knock in the second innings, Team India was defeated in front of 1 lakh 30 thousand people. As a result, many players of Team India broke down including Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, and more. As a result, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Team India's dressing room to cheer them up.
While multiple pictures were coming of PM Modi's visit to the Indian team's dressing room, the video was shared on Tuesday. In the video, PM Modi shook hands with Team India players. Seeing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli dejected after the loss, PM Modi held their hands and said, "You all have won 10 matches in a row, these things happen. Come on smile now, the country is watching you. I thought that I would meet you all."
PM Modi thereafter went to the other players. PM Modi shook hands with Shubman Gill and talked in Gujarati with Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah. However, what impressed everyone when PM Modi went to meet Mohammed Shami and gave his special appreciation to him. Hugging Mohammed Shami, PM Modi said, "Shami you have done very well."
Thereafter, PM Modi gave a pep talk and said, "You all have worked hard. Such things happen. Keep on supporting each other." Furthermore, PM Modi said, "When you all be free come to New Delhi. I will sit with you all. I invite all of you."
