Shiv Sena-UBT leader's son Abhishek Ghosalkar shot dead on Facebook live; attacker later kills self

The attack apparently took place at the office of Mauris Noronha, popularly known as Mauris Bhai, where Abhishek Ghosalkar had gone.

In a horrific development, Maharashtra's political fraternity and entire India went into shock after Abhishek Ghosalkar, the son of a Shiv Sena UBT leader, was shot by a man while doing a Facebook live with him. Thereafter, the attacker then turned the gun on himself and shot himself. The attacker has been identified as  Mauris Noronha. Abhishek Ghosalkar and 'attacker' Mauris Noronha are both dead. As per reports, Abhishek Ghosalkar and Mauris Noronha both joined each other and went to address their followers on Facebook Live. However, their Facebook Live turned shocking when  Mauris Noronha shot Abhishek on Facebook Livestream. Thereafter, Abhishek Ghosalkar Facebook Live video went viral in no time. Reports suggest that Abhishek Ghosalkar Facebook Live Murder video was shot within the limits of MHB Colony police station in Dahisar area

 

Abhishek Ghosalkar was the son of Vinod Ghosalkar, a former councillor of the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena.  The attack apparently took place at the office of Mauris Noronha, popularly known as Mauris Bhai, where Abhishek Ghosalkar had gone. Notably, Abhishek and Mauris had some animosity between them. However, they both patched a few weeks ago and thereafter they had decided to go on Facebook Live together. Ghosalkar was invited to Mauris' office for an event which was being webcast. The motive of the shooting is not clear yet.

 

Aaditya Thackeray, former state minister and the son of Uddhav Thackeray, addressing the media said, "Now I have received information that bullets have been fired on Abhishek Ghosalkar... How many days should we bear it? Maharashtra is not only getting defamed by this, people are also feeling scared. The most important thing is that the industry will not come to Maharashtra, such a situation has arisen in the state."

 

Maharashtra Deputy CM and NCP Chief Ajit Pawar said, "Such an incident should not have happened in Maharashtra. It is clearly visible in the video that there were friendly relations between the two, despite this, if such a thing happens, then the entire matter should be investigated... I do not deny that the opposition has found an issue to defame the government and demand the resignation of the Home Minister, but the background of this entire matter should also be seen. The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister also held a meeting yesterday and the matter is being investigated."
