As Kushal Tandon announces a breakup with the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress, on Sunday, they have become a hot topic lately with the actor’s inapt confession on social media.
On Sunday midnight, Kushal Tandon took to Instagram as he announced his breakup with Shivangi just a day before her new show airs. He posted a note on his story that read “To all the people I love, just wanted to say, me and Shivangi are not together anymore. Its been 5 months so yes.” He later deleted this story, but fans were fast enough to snapshot it, generating a buzz about their relationship status. He also mentioned that it has already been 5 months since they split up. The internet is rather disappointed by Kushal’s timing of the announcement, with the fans questioning his state of mind.
Shivangi Joshi and Kushal Tandon’s Relationship
Television's cute couple reportedly fell in love on the sets of their show Barsaatien - Mausam Pyar ka. Their on-screen chemistry was loved by fans, and their off-screen affinity fueled dating rumors. Later in an interview in October, the behadh actor confirmed their relationship, as he said, “I am not getting married right now, but I am definitely in love. We are taking it very slow.” he further added, “My mother desperately wants to see me married, and unka bas chale toh meri shadi aaj hi karwa de,” hinting at the plans of marriage with his then-girlfriend.
Fans were happy for them as the couple complemented each other very well and had good chemistry both on-screen and off-screen.
But they are disappointed with the news of their favourite couple's breakup and are also enraged with the timing of Kushal’s Insta Story post, as he decided to drop the bomb just a day before the debut of Shivangi’s new show.

Just a day before the premiere of her new show, you decided to announce your breakup? Shame on you, man. How insensitive of you… All for the limelight?” Another fan wrote while speculating if he was drunk, “Hai?! I mean itna openly kaun bolta hai that too with no remorse line Or is he drunk…?” Someone defended him, penning, “Don’t you think it's kind of a scam? It looks like they’re getting ready for a new ‘ship’... now a new pair and their compatibility will be all over the media.”

Shivangi’s new show, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain Season 4, is set for its debut on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Liv from 16 June 2025, which is today. The actress is sharing the screen with Harshad Chopra in the new season of the beloved show. While fans are also speculating that Harshad is going to be dragged into this ‘mess’ by the ‘shippers’ as one wrote, “...they’re gonna drag Harshad too in this mess, feeling bad for him already…” Netizens believe that Kushal deliberately posted the Insta Story just a day before the show’s premiere.
