A shoe was thrown at the windscreen of Pakistani Home Minister Rana Sanaullah’s car on Tuesday. The minister was in the front passenger seat when the event occurred as his driver drove the vehicle past a crowd of journalists.

The video of the bizarre incident has gone viral, which shows a sneaker that appears to be intended for Sanaullah was thrown by an unidentified man. The incident took place when Minister was departing the provincial assembly’s ground.

In the video, the driver can be seen stopping soon as the shoe hits the window before continuing. Based on the reports in the media, the shoe was allegedly thrown by the driver of Imran Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member (MPA) Rashid Hafeez, in the Punjab Assembly.

Alongside fellow party members, Sanaullah stated that the security agents have been clearly instructed to prevent the leaders of PML-N from entering the assembly, however, they had refused to abide by the "illegal" directives.

Earlier today, the Punjab government, which is ruled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), prohibited the minister, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Attaullah Tarar, and other party leaders.

Despite the directives, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) legislators and leaders forced their way inside the premises somehow amidst heavy security deployment.

"The IG Punjab was also asked to prevent us from entering the building but he refused to implement the orders," said the PML-N leader, adding they (the Punjab government) were using these tactics because they knew they did not have the numbers for the vote of confidence.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Punjab's coalition government are at the loggerheads for several days now as the political turmoil surmounts over Punjab CM Parvez Elahi’s vote of confidence.
