Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah gets a new date after switching to OTT

Sidharth Malhotra’s latest movie Shershaah was all set to release in the cinemas but now it has taken the digital route and would be released on the OTT platform. Co-producer of the film Karan Johar has revealed that the film would be released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Videos on August 12, 2021.
Shershaash traced the journey of Captain Vikram Batra, who died in the Kargil Was and was honored with the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. The film features Sidharth Malhotra as Vikram Batra as well as his twin brother Vishal, Kiara Advani is his co-star which would portray the role of Dimple Cheema.
Karan Johar, while informing about the new release date wrote, “An ordinary man's extraordinary journey of courage and valor. Extremely honored, thrilled and excited to present Shershaah, releasing on August 12 only on Prime Video.”
Actor Sidharth Malhotra took his Instagram handle to share the news. He has posted a teaser of the film and wrote, “Shershaah | Out on August 12th.

The film is the directorial debut of Vishnu Varashan in Bollywood and Hindi cinema and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production. The film was supposed to release in the cinemas last year but later, the release date was changed and now it would be released in the month of August.
The actor has suffered an injury while shooting for the film in Kargil in the month of September and the shooting of the film began in May last year.
