Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala has become a topic of discussion yet again. While BBC has released a docuseries on Sidhu Moose Wala titled The Killing Call on YouTube that chronicles what went wrong between Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and the Punjabi singer, the late singer's father, Balkaur Singh, released three unreleased songs. One of the songs that has been recently released is titled 'Take Notes', and it contains references to the threats Sidhu allegedly received after performing at the Dirba Show.

For the unversed, Sidhu Moose Wala performed at the Dirba Kabaddi Cup 2020. It is said that Sidhu Moose Wala's Dirba show in 2020 had the highest crowd recorded for him, with an estimated 4.5 lakh (450,000) attendees. However, what was supposed to be worth a headline-grabbing, turned out to be a major point that sparked enmity between Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Sidhu Moose Wala.

What went wrong between Lawrence Bishnoi and Sidhu Moose Wala after the Dirba Show?

As per reports, Lawrence Bishnoi opposed Sidhu Moose Wala’s participation in the event, alleging that it was organized by rival Bambiha gang affiliates. Despite being warned, Sidhu went ahead and performed, stating publicly that he wouldn't cancel shows on anyone’s orders.

After the event, Sidhu went live on social media, claiming he was receiving death threats but emphasized, “I am not someone who gets scared. I will retaliate even more fiercely if provoked.”

BBC Documentary also mentioned the controversy

The Dirba Show has also been mentioned by gangster Goldy Brar. Goldy Brar is the alleged mastermind of Sidhu’s murder. In a recent BBC documentary. Brar claimed that Sidhu’s decision to perform at Dirba, despite Lawrence’s warnings, was viewed as an act of support for rival groups and marked the beginning of their fallout. He further revealed that Sidhu’s movements were being monitored after the incident, and alleged he was promoting the Bambiha gang, which ultimately put him on Lawrence’s hit list. Finally, it was the murder of Vicky Middukhera that created further tension between the two gangs. Vicky was the mentor of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sidhu Moose Wala’s father, Balkaur Singh, has legally objected to the documentary, claiming it could influence the ongoing murder trial. Despite his efforts, including a legal notice and petition filed in the Mansa court, the BBC released the documentary on June 11.
