Sidhu Moosewala murder: Police killed sharpshooters Mannu and Roopa in an encounter

Three policemen also got injured during the encounter.

Punjab Police killed sharpshooters Mannu and Jagroop Roopa in the encounter. One gangster is still firing continuously from the building. Three policemen also got injured during the encounter.

Two of the 3 gangsters are named Manpreet Mannu Kussa and Jagroop Roopa. The identity of the third gangster is yet to be ascertained. 

Apart from Anti Gangster Task Force, Special Operation Cell, Organized Crime Control Unit, and Amritsar Police are present on the spot. Police's best shooter and quick reaction team are also present. This encounter is taking place in the village on the road leading to the Attari border. The area is about 10 kilometers away from the India-Pakistan border. 

One of the gangsters has started firing at the police with an AK-47. The locals of the area are advised to stay inside their homes.

Police investigation revealed that Jagroop Roopa and Manpreet Mannu, the sharpshooters who killed Moosewala, were roaming in Punjab even after the murder. According to sources, they were hiding in a village in Tarn Taran till the end of June. Roopa is a resident of this area. Here another gangster Tufan hid them in his farmhouse. Gangster Raiya was also present with them.
