Russia-Ukraine War: Sikh community steps forward, serves ‘Guru ka langar’ on a train to war stricken people

Even as they keep their fingers crossed awaiting an opportunity to leave war-torn Ukraine, scores of stranded Indian students have taken shelter in different schools across the country to evade bombing. Thousands of Indians are trapped in Ukraine.

On the other hand, Indians present in Ukraine are busy helping each other, trying to do whatever is happening in this difficult time. A video of Hardeep Singh and his team is circulating on social media serving ‘Guru ka langar’ on a train. War-stricken people were on this train which is travelling east of Ukraine to the west Polish border.


This video is becoming viral on social media. Everyone is praising Hardeep Singh and his team for their efforts, especially during the time of war.


Apart from this, the Indian government is trying to evacuate stranded Indian students through the borders of Hungary and Poland.

Meanwhile, Hungary will open a humanitarian corridor for citizens of Ukraine as well as third countries fleeing Ukraine, the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto said in Budapest on Friday.

Third countries that have requested help from Hungary to get their citizens home include India, Iran, Ecuador, Israel, Zimbabwe, the Maldives, Mongolia and Jordan, he added.

Hungary's government expects around 600,000 refugees to arrive in the country from Ukraine, according to a map shown on Prime Minister Viktor Orban's Facebook page.
