It is not a hidden fact that the United Kingdom saw a major political scandal when Boris Johnson was the Prime Minister of the country.  Boris Johnson, the former PM of the UK, had to resign in 2022, following an infighting by ministers and his own party leaders over his leadership, sparked by scandals including Partygate. Not only this, Boris had to give up his MP seat after the Parliament Committee found that Johnson misled the parliament on parties held in the PM’s official home-office when the country was in lockdown due to COVID. Now, Simon Case's WhatsApp chats have been going viral on social media.

Simon Case, Head of the Home Civil Service, was among the senior-most members in the Johnson cabinet.  Although Simon Case is still holding the same post, his leaked WhatsApp chats reveal that he was not happy with the former UK PM Johnson and his (then) girlfriend Carrie Johnson was actually intervening in government affairs.

Below is an excerpt from leaked Simon Case WhatsApp chats

In the messages, Simon Case says: "Am not sure I can cope with today. Might just go home."

Downing Street aide Lee Cain replies, what "are we talking about", to which Simon Case replies: "Whatever Carrie cares about, I guess." He further wrote, "I was always told that Dom [Cummings] was the secret PM. How wrong they are. I look forward to telling select [committee] tomorrow... don't worry about Dom, the real person in charge is Carrie."

Cummings, Boris' then top aide, then replied, "so true" with a laughing emoji.

Lee Cain then replies that "she doesn't know [what] she is talking about either".

On this Simon Case further wrote, "This government doesn't have the credibility needed to be imposing stuff within only days of deciding not too [sic]. We look like a terrible, tragic joke...If we were going hard, that decision was needed weeks ago. I cannot cope with this."

It is pertinent to mention here that the 2020 Simon Case WhatsApp messages were released by the COVID inquiry.
