In a major development, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday said that it has summoned Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preeet Singh for questioning in a drug-related case.
A senior NCB official related to the probe told IANS, "Summons have been issued to Deepika, Sara, Shraddha and Rakul for questioning. "Besides four Bollywood actors, the NCB has also summoned fashion designer Simone Khambatta."
While Simone Khambatta has already arrived at the NCB office, team Rakul Preet Sigh has released an official statement. Rakul's manager said that the actress has not received the summons sent by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) either at Mumbai or Hyderabad so far. The actress reached Mumbai from Hyderabad on Wednesday night.
However, senior NCB official KPS Malhotra said, "Her summons were issued and she was contacted through various platforms including the phone no available. There has been no response so far from her."
NCB sources added, "It's just an excuse... She will not join probe today."
As per reports, actresses are trying to delay the proceedings, even Deepika Padukone is mulling legal help.
