The MC's vehicle has exposed the poor state of the roads constructed by Municipal Corporation Jalandhar with money from the Smart City Project. The sewer suction machine of the corporation, which went to clean the sewerage in Adarsh Nagar, a posh area of the city, sank on the road there. The machine's rear tyre was totally submerged in the road causing it to become crooked.

The Mission Compound, which is next to Adarsh Nagar, has reported a sewer blockage to the Municipal Corporation. As soon as municipal corporation employee Jagroop Singh parked the machine near Adarsh Nagar, its rear part began sinking into the road. Jagroop was on his way to the scene with a sewage suction machine to open the blockage of sewerage. By the time the driver moved the vehicle back and forth, a pothole of about four feet fell on the road. He said that the way the road sank down, the sewer suction machine could have overturned.

The employees of the Municipal Corporation informed their officers about all the developments. The officials sent a JCB machine to the spot to remove the machine which was stuck in the road. With the help of a JCB machine, the heavy sewer suction machine was taken out and sent to the corporation's yard.

When Raman Arora, the area's MLA, learned about this road that had been sunk in ward number 68 of the central area, he immediately demanded an investigation. Additionally, he dispatched Raju Madan, one of his workers, to survey the area. People said that the road had only been constructed for around 1.5 years. The way it is submerged, corruption is obviously visible in it. The MLA has also asked for information about the contractor employed by the Municipal Corporation and the Municipal Corporation authorities who, at the time, granted the clearance certificate for this route.
