The Somalia terror attack came as a shocker as the terrorist emulated the infamous Mumbai's 9/11 attack by a group of Pakistan-national terrorists. In the Somalia terror attack, the terrorists attacked Hotel Hayat in Mogadishu with car bombs and barged into the hotel ultimately keeping it under seizure and keeping people as hostages.

Notably, in the Somalia hotel terror attack, more than 10 people have been killed. In fact, it has been almost 12 hours, and Mogadishu Hotel Hayat remains under the seizure of the terror organisation. It is pertinent to mention here that the al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab group has taken responsibility for the attack, as per a translation by the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors Jihadist group statements.

Al-Shabab is an Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group. It has been fighting to topple the Somali government for more than 10 years. It wants to establish its own rule based on a strict interpretation of Islamic law.

Those wondering why the terror group targetted Hotel Hayat? It is because Mogadishu's Hotel Hayat is a famous and popular venue with lawmakers and other government officials. People from the Somal government often visit the hotel. However, the main motive of Al-Shabab is yet to be known as the terrorists have kept multiple people in the hotel as their hostages.
