Sona Mohapatra accused TV Channels for sneaking in ‘sexual predators’

Sona Mohapatra slammed television networks, accusing them of sneaking in A-list singers accused of sexual assault.After Indian Idol 12 released promos for upcoming shows, she took to Twitter to express her displeasure.Former judge Anu Malik will be a guest on the show, according to the announcement.



On the other hand, the Baazigar composer Anu Malik is seen delighted with the contestants' performances in the promos for the upcoming episodes, which have gone viral on social media. 

For the uninitiated, Anu Malik was fired from the 11th season of Indian Idol after #MeToo allegations were levelled against him. Shweta Pandit, Neha Bhasin, and Sona Mohapatra have previously accused him of sexual assault.

Following multiple complaints of sexual assault, Anu Malik stepped down from the show in 2018.

Sona chastised TV networks for continuing to welcome celebrities into their shows amid complaints against them in a series of tweets.

Sona wrote in her first tweet,“In all the death, despair and scrambling to stay afloat in this pandemic, TV channels have made a considered decision to sneak in serial sexual predators called out by multiple women in the public domain and put them on the chair.This is not my shame India. It’s on @NCWIndia and you.”


In her next tweet, Sona named Anu Malik and Kailash Kher. She also tagged the National Commission for Women.

She continued,“Anu Malik, Kailash Kher had even minors on their lists of women who spoke up about being sexually harassed and assaulted.
I have details of the legal docs sent by women to @NCWIndia from abroad even. They received no response.
These men are confident that #India doesn’t care about us.”


In her next tweet, Sona named Anu Malik and Kailash Kher. She also tagged the National Commission for Women.
