Sonu Nigam assaulted at live concert in Chembur by Shiv Sena MLA's son & others; hospitalized

In a shocking development, veteran Bollywood actor Sonu Nigam on Monday was attacked in his live concert in Chembur, Mumbai. As per reports, Sonu Nigam was attacked by Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Phaterpekar’s son and nephew after a scuffle broke out. Initial reports suggest that a scuffle broke out between Prakash Phaterpekar’s son and nephew and bodyguards of the singer who wanted to take a selfie with the veteran singer. Notably, the incident took place when Sonu was performing at a concert in Chembur, Mumbai. It is pertinent to mention here that Sonu Nigam has been rushed to a hospital as he has been reportedly injured during the fight. If reports are to believed then Sonu is safe, but his guru Ghulam Mustafa Khan’s son and his close aid Rabbani Khan and his bodyguard have sustained some injuries. They are currently being treated at the hospital.

Now, a video is going viral on social media in which it can be seen that a few miscreants having a physical fight backstage. Furthermore, it can be seen that the goons beating and pushing Sonu Nigam's bodyguard. According to the police sources reported by a newswire, the politician’s son and nephew tried to “forcibly" take the selfie with Sonu, which led to the alleged scuffle between them and the singer’s bodyguards. Phaterpekar was not present at the concert and was only the organiser of Chembur festival where Sonu was invited. This was a four-day long festival and Sonu Nigam was performing at the finale. It’s is a famous cultural festival where some of the other popular singers have performed in the past.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sonu Nigam has not registered any FIR or complaint till now.
