Spare-parts businessman shot while being robbed of his car and cash on highway in Karnal, Haryana

In Haryana, two armed criminals shot a spare parts businessman from Karnal and looted his car on the Delhi-Chandigarh National Highway. The miscreants also took away cash worth Rs 3 lakh kept in the car. This incident took place on National Highway-44 near Kutel village of Karnal. Both the criminals who committed the crime had asked for a lift and boarded the car. The businessman was going to Delhi with his employee to buy goods.

 

According to the police, Sanjay Gaba, resident of Chaudhary Colony, Karnal, is a spare parts businessman. He was injured by a bullet in his leg and admitted to the hospital with the help of passers-by for treatment.

 

According to reports, he left home at around quarter to 7 in the morning. At ITI Chowk in Karnal, two youths asked for a lift in the car to go to Delhi. Sanjay stopped the car and allowed the youths sit in the car. Seeing the opportunity in the car itself, both the miscreants took out pistols asking the businessman to park the car on the side. They stopped the car and then both the miscreants tried to rob the car at gunpoint.

 

Seeing this, the youth showed courage and started protesting. This led to a scuffle between them and the miscreants. They fired two bullets out of which one bullet hit the businessman's leg. He fell out of the car along with his employee who tried to help him. Both the miscreants fled from the spot with the car. Hearing the sound of bullets on the National Highway, nearby people gathered at the spot.  

 

Madhuban police station in-charge Vinod Kumar reached the spot. .Injured shopkeeper Sanjay has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The employee, Amit told the police that businessman Sanjay Gaba goes to Delhi every Wednesday to buy goods. To cover the expenses of oil etc., they give lifts to people. They allowed both the youths to sit in the back of the Tiago car. At that time Sanjay Gaba was driving the car and Amit was sitting in the front seat next to the driver.

 

Police station in-charge Vinod Kumar, who reached the spot of the incident, said that he had received information about firing and snatching of the car. The police have registered a case and started searching for the miscreants as described by the driver and after examining the CCTV cameras. The driver is undergoing treatment. After collecting various clues, action has been taken to identify the miscreants and arrest them.
