Spike in Covid-19 cases: Delhi makes negative coronavirus report mandatory for Punjab, 4 other states

Covid-19 cases are picking up a worrying trend in five states- Punjab, Maharashtra, Kerala, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The country’s active caseload , however has fallen below 1.50 lakh. It still stands at worrying trend of 1,47,306 as per data available till February 23.

Travellers from above mentioned states now need a negative certificate of Covid-19 to enter Delhi from February 26 to March 15.

As per reports, the people will now need negative RT-PCR report from February 25. Especially those travelling by air will have to produce negative Covid-19 report in many states.

More than 74% of cases are from Kerala and Maharashtra. According to data provided by health ministry on February 23, first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 1,27,528 people while 20,538 people have got the second dose in Punjab. It takes the total number of doses to 1,48,066.

Maharashtra continues to report the highest daily new cases at 5,210. It is followed by Kerala with 2,212 while Tamil Nadu reported 449 new cases and Punjab reported 388 cases.
