
Jalandhar,February 10- The Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Wednesday directed theFood, Civil and Supply department to create awareness about 'One Nation-OneRation Card' scheme among the migrants so that they can take benefit of thisambitious program.
Presidingover a meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that 'One Nation-OneRation Card scheme would help the people especially migrants to take subsidizedfood grain from any fair price shop (ration depots) here by registering withthe food, civil and supply department.
Hedisclosed if the migrant's family has a ration card at his native state, he orshe can take subsidized food grain including wheat and Daal from ration depotshere also by giving his Aadhar card number, mobile number and present addressfor the registration.
Thoriinformed that the family of migrants would continue to get the ration from hisparent state. Hesaid that this would be done through the National Portability Scheme of RationCard.
DeputyCommissioner told for registration, any migrant can contact District Food andSupply Officer Ashok Kumar (78883-59581), Assistant Food and Supply OfficersRaj Kumar (98886-04432) and Vinit Kumar (98888-63164).
Healso told the department to hold awareness camps for the maximum enrollment ofthe migrants under the scheme.
