Spurious liquor suspected behind 11 deaths in Madhya Pradesh

11 people had died after consuming spurious liquor in October 2020 while four people died in May.

11 people died in Madhya Pradesh after they allegedly consumed spurious liquor. 8 out of 10 have been admitted to a hospital in Morena and Gwalior districts.

The area station house officer has been suspended after this second hooch incident. Narottam Mishra, Home Minister of the state told NDTV, ""I'm deeply saddened by this. The station house officer has been suspended immediately. Senior officials have reached the site. A team will investigate the matter. Accused won't be spared."

Inspector General of the Chambul range said the autopsy reports are awaited to ascertain the actual cause of death. Two days ago, a few people fell ill after allegedly consuming spurious liquor.

After the numbers started to rise and sick were admitted to the Morena district hospital.  11 people had died after consuming spurious liquor in October 2020 while four people died in May.
