Among the biggest shows on Netflix, Squid Game star O Yeong-su on Friday was sentenced to jail for 8 months. O Yeong-su, 79, was sentenced to jail by a South Korean court after he was found guilty of committing heinous crimes against an actress multiple times. To be precise, O Yeong-su was sentenced to jail for groping and molesting a woman on two separate occasions back in 2017.

As per reports, O Yeong-su was sentenced by a South Korean court to spend 8 months jail time and has been ordered to attend 40 hours of classes on sexual violence as well. The majority of O Yeong-su's sexual assault hearings at the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court were closed to the public. However, Judge Jeong Yeon-ju has since said that the victim's records of the assault were "consistent...and appear to be statements that cannot be made without actually experiencing them."

For the unversed, the Squid Game actor Yeong-su was charged in 2022 when an actress accused him of inappropriately touching her when the pair were on tour for a play, and again outside her house. The identity of the actress has been kept confidential.

Notably, the Squid Game star has repeatedly, and publicly, denied the allegations against him, insisting that he just held his alleged victim's hand. At the time, Yeong-su had also said that he apologised to the woman, but added that it wasn't an admission of guilt. Korean news broadcaster JTBC quoted Yeong-su saying, "I just held her hand to guide the way around the lake..I apologized because [she] said she wouldn’t make a fuss about it but it doesn’t mean that I admit the charges."
