'SRK of Music': Diljit Dosanjh scripts another history, becomes first Punjabi singer to perform at 'soldout' BC Place in Vancouver

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh on Saturday scripted history by becoming the first Punjabi singer to perform at 'sold out' BC Place in Vancouver. Before, this, Diljit scripted history by becoming the first Indian to perform at Coachella. Diljit Dosanjh's BC Place performance took place under the singer's Canadian leg of Dil-luminati tour. According to reports, Diljit Dosanjh's BC Place concert was the largest Punjabi music concert held outside India. Two hours before the concert, hundreds of people formed lines outside the entrances of B.C. Place. A report suggests that more than 54,000 people arrived at BC Place to enjoy DIljit Dosanjh's live performance. 

 

As per reports, Diljit Dosanjh's BC Place concert tickets were fully sold out. Furthermore, the tickets were also reselled from $100 to $7,500. In 2022, Diljit scripted history by becoming the first Punjabi musician to sell out Rogers Arena. However, BC Place was DIljit's biggest concert. 

 

Notably, Diljit Dosanjh has been basking in light success ever since his movie Amar Singh Chamkila was released on Netflix. Diljit portrayed the character of Amar Singh Chamkila and gave his career-best performance in the Imtiaz Ali-Directorial movie. While Diljit played Chamkila, Parineeti Chopra played his second wife Amarjot Kaur. 

 

Reacting to Diljit Dosanjh's BC Place concert, a user wrote, "At the last place I worked at I pitched doing a story about Diljit Dosanjh becoming the first Indian artist to sell out rogers arena - & was told no one in the newsroom knew who to interview about it! When you fail to tell these stories you leave these communities behind."
