Veteran actor Naseerudin Shah has recently come forward to extend support towards Diljit Dosanjh’s movie “Sardaar Ji 3”. The actor took his official X platform and outlined that people must not blame the singer-turned-actor, as he is not responsible for the film's casting decisions.

The veteran actor shared this comment after the screening of the film had been scheduled in Pakistan and overseas and had been banned in India due to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. It is to be noted that the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir has added fuel to the intense debate.

While extending the support, Shah wrote, “I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks department of the Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they’ve got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film; the director was (sic).”

In addition to this, the actor mentioned, “But no one knows who he is whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned. What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there, and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever I feel like it. And my response to those who will say, “Go to Pakistan” is “GO TO KAILASA (sic).”

The film has been released overseas, and in Pakistan, it broke records, with an estimated earning of USD 500,000 on its first day. Now, this comedy-action film holds the record for the highest-ever opening for an Indian movie in Pakistan. Notably, the previous record was set by Bollywood hits like ‘Sultan.’

What did Diljit say on this matter?

This matter was addressed by actor Diljit Dosanjh while speaking to BBC Asian Network. Reportedly, he was quoted saying, “When this film was made, everything was fine. We shot it in February, and things were okay back then. After that, a lot of big things happened that were beyond our control. So the producers decided that the film obviously won't be released in India now, so they'll release it overseas. The producers have invested a lot of money, and when the film was being made, nothing like this was happening.”

He also took a moment to outline that producers were fully aware of the financial loss to be faced due to removal from a territory like India.
