India Google Chrome Google Chrome Date Leak

The Government of India on Tuesday issued an advisory cautioning the use of the famous browser Google Chrome on your smartphones, PCs, or laptops. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) on its official website flagged Google Chrome's risk and why Indians must upgrade to the latest version of the Internet Browser software. The advisory informed that using an older version of Google Chrome is prone to hackers and private data may be leaked in the public domain by miscreants.

CRET in its report says, "Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Google ChromeOS which could be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the targeted system...These vulnerabilities exist in Google ChromeOS due to Integer overflow in Skia and Use after free condition in Garbage Collection, Majo ard WebAudio components. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted website."

"Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the targeted system," says the CRET report.

It is pertinent to mention here that CRET in its report also gave the solution for Google Chrome. The report said, "Updagte to Google ChromeOS LTS channel version 114.0.5735.343 as mentioned by the vendor."

It is worth mentioning that CRET-IN has already flagged risks in Samsung as well as Apple Phones in its previous reports. In their previous reports, the Government of India had urged users to update their Operating Systems to the latest version to keep their smartphones safe from hackers or hacking attempts.
