ISRO launched a pollution monitoring satellite and 30 other nano and micro satellites of 9 other countries. The launch had took place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh today (November 29). It is the 6th mission using polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV). India own earth observation satellite. Along with 30 co-passenger satellites inclusive of 1 micro and 29 nano satellites developed by various nations, including 23 from the US.
At 9:58 am of November 29, the spacecraft have been launched at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The PSLV launcher has a total length of 39.4m composed of a four-stage rocket that has alternating solid and liquid stages. This was the 13th successful launch of this PSLV model including India's Hyper Spectral Imaging Satellite (HysIS).
The combined weight of the satellites is 641.5kg. While the 30 foreign satellites have been launched at an altitude of 504 km from the Earth surface where ISRO HysIS satellite will be launched at an altitude of 636 km.
