Sushant Singh Rajput Case: CBI registers a case against Rhea and 6 others

The team that investigated Vijay Mallya and the Augusta Welding case has been handed over Sushant Singh's case.

At the behest of the Bihar police, The CBI on Thursday registered a case against Rhea Chakraborty and 6 other individuals which include Rhea's father Inderjeet, mother Sandhya, brother Shaivik, acquaintance Samuel, Shruti Modi, and began their investigation.

CBI has handed over this case to the S.I.T.

This is the same S.I.T that investigated the Vijay Mallya and the VIP chopper scam.

The investigation will begin under the watchful eyes of CBI's joint director Manoj Sashidhar and D.I.G Gagandeep Ghambir whereas, the investigating team will be lead by SP Nupur Prasad. 

Sushant's acquaintance, Samuel Miranda was reportedly questioned for many hours by the ED for the second straight day. The ED had registered a case of money laundering against Rhea and the members of her family. Sushant's father had alleged that the actress had withdrawn approximately 15 crore rupees from the late actor's account. A case under "prevention of money laundering act" has been registered against the actress by the ED.

The team of 4 police officers from Patna returned back to Bihar on Thursday. After this, the SSP and IG police met with the DGP at the headquarters.

Sushant's father had registered a case at the Rajiv Nagar Police Station in Patna after which, the 4 officers had left for Mumbai to investigate the matter.SP Vinay Tiari however, isn't returning back as he has been kept under quarantine by the BMC in Mumbai. The Bihar DGP had then targeted the BMC by posting a Tweet on his Twitter account in which he criticized the BMC for quarantining their SP.
