Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty on Thursday opened up on the media trial, social media trolling, jail time, and what her late boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput was going through. Rhea Chakraborty in an interactive session with the news portal also talked about how her life was in Byculla jail when she was lodged there for 6 weeks on drugs charges that emerged in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Not only this, the Bollywood actress also talked about mental health and how India is now accepting the fact that even successful people go through mental problems. However, what was indeed attention-grabbing when Rhea Chakraborty was asked if she knew what Sushant Singh Rajput was going through and if he died by suicide then what was the reason behind it? Below is what Rhea Chakraborty said-
"I could never know why he (Sushant) took that step because I don't live in his mind contrary to popular belief. But, I do know the truth about him being mentally ill. I do know the truth about what he was going through. I am hoping to hear the truth. I hope agencies are doing their job. In the right time, in the right place they will give their verdict," said Rhea Chakraborty.
Rhea further talked about mental health and said, "The truth is that mental health is not understood in this country at all. We are taking strides, and I am happy that the young people are now talking about it. India is moving forward, but if someone is famous and has mental health conditions, they don't understand it. They are like, 'he has fame, he has success. Why is he depressed?'"
It is pertinent to mention here that CBI is currently investing in what led to Sushant Singh Rajput's death. CBI has been a mute spectator for the last two to three years and still have not filed its closure report.
Accusations against Rhea Chakraborty
It is pertinent to mention here that Rhea faced 1 month jail term after getting arrested by the NCB in the drug case linked to the SSR’s death. Sushant's father registered a five-page FIR against Rhea on Sunday, accusing the actress of instigating the actor to commit suicide. The case was filed against the 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' actress under sections 406, 420, 341, 323, and 342 of the IPC. The FIR stated that Rhea withdrew Sushant's money in the pretext of love. Sushant's father also expressed his inability to go to Mumbai to fight the case due to his health issues. Therefore, the case was filed in Patna. Patna’s SSP had said that the case had been filed under special circumstances and hence the FIR was kept under the classified category and sent to the court. For the unversed, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead under mysterious circumstances on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence.
