Speaking to a news website, Kulkarni said, "At around 6o'clock in the evening, I got a call from Jyoti Patil, who has worked with us in'Baap Manus'. She told that Abhilasha's condition is critical. I have heard thatshe is in Banaras. She developed fever when she returned to Mumbai and then latertested covid positive. "
Kulkarni further added, "I tried to contact Abhilasha. Butboth of her numbers were switched off. Then at around 8:30 pm, Anand Prabhu,the actor who played our son in 'Baap Manus', informed us of her demise. This is very shocking news because she had a lot to achieve in her life right now. Shehad some plans. Abhilasha was a very kind-hearted and hard-working artist. Thisis a huge loss for the industry”.
Abhilasha played the role of a nurse in 'Chichhore', directed byNitesh Tiwari. Apart from this, she had worked in Hindi films like AkshayKumar, Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Good News' and Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt starrer'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'. She also appeared in Marathi films such as 'TujhaManjha arrange Marriage', 'Bayko Dita Ka Bayko' and 'Pepsi'.
