IMD Heavy-Rainfall Kerala

Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry to receive heavy rainfall for the next 3 days, the National Weather Forecasting Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted on Tuesday.

According to IMD, almost widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rains and moderate thunderstorm and lightning will likely happen over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Kerala, and Lakshadweep during next 2-3 days, possibly due to the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Comorin area and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels.

Dry north/northwesterly winds, prevailing over most parts of Northwest India,  the minimum temperature might go below normal for the next 4-5 days.

These dry conditions are likely to cause severe cold day conditions in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next 3 days, said IMD.

Over the next three days, cold wave conditions at some parts over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and in isolated parts over Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan may remain severe.
