After its release on January 15, 2021, Tandav stokes another controversy. Multi starrer web-series released on Amazon Prime. It was trending some days back when some users took offence of the role played by Actor Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub.

After Ayub was seen playing a role as a stage performer donning Lord Shiva's avatar and saying, "Azadi, What the  *****.." People have accused the makers of this web-series as 'anti-Hindu' and 'left wing propagandists.'

In a tweet against the movie, BJP leader Kapil Mishra, who was also accused by many as the one behind Delhi riots 2020, said, "Tandav is anti Dalit and full of communal hatred against Hindus."

The controversies with respect to Tandav don't seem to die down soon. Member of Parliament from North East Mumbai, Manoj Kotak has written a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister.

In his letter, Kotak said, "It has been observed now a days that OTT platform has become very popular especially among youth." He further mentions that since the platforms are free from any censoring authority, people allegedly take undue advantage of it.

"Now is the urgent need to regulate the OTT platforms," Kotak added. He further writes that the makers of Tandav have deliberately mock Hindu Gods and disrespect Hindu religious sentiments.

In the end he urged the I&B ministry to ban Tandav and regulate OTT platforms.
