Shocking incident was reported from Tarn Taran where a low-intensity blast was reported in an area adjacent to Sarhali Police Station of Tarn Taran. As per information, Saanjh Kendra was attacked with a rocket launcher. Although no casualties were reported during the incident, but this has made the atmosphere of Punjab tensed.
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav also reached the spot and has taken hold of the matter. He while interacting with the media stated that an FIR has been registered of the attack that took place and forensic investigation is being carried out. He also added that the neighbouring country is trying to create unrest in the state through these attacks and various drone activities. DGP Gaurav Yadav further added that Punjab police is trying its level best to maintain harmony and peace in the state. He assured that accused of this attack will be found soon and will be brought for trial as well. When asked about gangster Goldy Brar’s arrest, DGP chose not to give any statement on the same.
Reportedly, windowpanes, glassed of the outpost and police booth got smashed during the attack. As soon as the incident was reported extra police force along with Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav also reached the spot. The area where blast was reported has been sealed and as per statement of SSP Gurmeet Singh, investigation is underway. As per statements it is suspected that the accused did not intend to harm anyone through this attack but wanted to instil people in officials as well as people of the state.
Around 7 months back similar kind of attack was reported in Punjab Police Intelligence headquarters of Mohali. During the attack name of Lakhbir Singh Landa was attached to be the main accused of the incident.
