In Tarn Taran, a 32-year-old shop owner Gurjant Singh was shot dead by two youths in Rasulpur village on the Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan National Road. Both of the suspects entered the store as customers and continued to explore the clothes. On getting the opportunity, both of them fired about fifteen rounds on Gurjant Singh.

The shopkeeper died on the spot as a result of bullet wounds. The investigation has been started by taking possession of the dead body and registering a case against unknown killers on the statements of Gurjant Singh's father Ajaib Singh.

Threats were coming from Canadian gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa to the family of Ajaib Singh, who owns a Dhaba on the national highway. Ajaib Singh sent Joban, one of his sons, to Canada as a result of these threats. Police have also started an investigation on various aspects by recording the statement of the wife and mother of Gurjant Singh. Ajaib Singh's family was frequently threatened for ransom.

Gurjant Singh had called his wife ten minutes prior to the incident to tell her that he would soon be returning home. The wife and mother were expecting to return to Gurjant's house when suddenly they found that he had been shot and killed. About six months ago, Ajaib Singh was receiving threats for ransom from the gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa living in Canada. Gurjant was getting ready to go to Canada with his family. Ajaib Singh told that he also informed the police about the threats, but the police had taken no action.

Inspector Gurcharan Singh, SP (I) Vishaljit Singh, and DSP (I) Jaswant Singh have all taken footage from CCTV cameras that have been put in the shop while checking the area. Both of the boys appear to be between the age of 18 and 22 in the clip. Both the killers, who were present in the shop for about five minutes, first asked the shopkeeper to show the clothes. The clothes were shown by the worker, but the young man, dressed in black, indicated to Gurjant Singh that those clothes on the rack should be shown. When Gurjant went to get the clothes, the said accused fired seven bullets at the back.

During this Gurjant Singh fell on the ground. Another teenager who was wearing a checkered shirt fired seven to eight shots. SP (I) Vishaljit Singh said that investigation is being done on various aspects. The cause of the murder will become clear following an investigation.
