TB patient raped in unconscious state during treatment in Fortis Hospital Gurugram, Police inspecting CCTV footage

According to the complaint filed, between 21 and 27 October, the girl was raped.

A dreadful incident came into the limelight after a tuberculosis patient was allegedly raped in an unconscious state at Gurugram's famous Fortis hospital located in Sector 44. Going by the reports, the 21-years-old TB patient was allegedly raped when she was on ventilators in an unconscious state during the treatment from October 21 to 27.

However, the incident was reported on 27th October when she regained her consciousness. The girl wrote a three-page letter to her father where she identified a man named Vikas as the prime accused. It was not immediately confirmed if the accused is a hospital staff or not. According to the complaint filed by the girl's father to the police, on 21 October, the 21-year-old victim girl was admitted to the hospital. The girl was admitted after breathing problems worsened, then she was on put on a ventilator in ICU on the next day i.e. 22 October. 

6 days later, when the victim regained consciousness, she told her father about physical abuse. According to the complaint filed, between 21 and 27 October, the girl was raped.

2nd Page of the FIR says: "मार तो आज ही देंगे लेकिन इसके पापा..." (We can kill today but her father...)

3rd Page of the FIR says: "मैं यहां कब से हूं?", "बेहोश होकर लेकर गई", "वहां बहुत शोर था", "कुछ समझ नहीं आया", "मैंने आंखें बंद कर ली", "बेहोश हो गई", "उसके बाद 2-4 दिन खाना नहीं दिया", "बोल रहे थे मरेगी कब?", "विकास नाम का था कोई", "मैं बेहोश हो गई", "Rape", "I M Pregnant". (Since when I am here?, She took away when she felt unconscious, There was too much noise, I couldn't understand, I closed my eyes, I faded, Then they didn't serve me food 2-3 days, There was someone named Vikash, Rape, I M Pregnant)

Police are trying to connect the dots in the statement given by the girl, however, the prime accused Vikash is still absconding. An FIR in connection with the incident was lodged at Sushant Lok Police Station on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) Maqsood Ahmad said, "The victim is not in a condition to record her statement. The statement of the victim will be taken only after clearance from the doctors. The case is being investigated. The parents of the woman do not even know whether the accused is an employee of hospital or not. We are also questioning the hospital management about the incident. The situation will be clear only after the woman gives her statement. Further investigation is on."
