A teacher training programme was recently held for universities and high schools in Indonesia. The programme was conducted at a university in Gujarat where more than 1000 teachers participated.
The programme was held at Marwadi University keeping in view the transition of learning and teaching online during the prevailing situation.
YP Kosta, vice-chancellor, Marwadi University said, “This online teacher training programme seeks to provide rigorous personal and professional training to teachers in the most effective way possible. With a user-friendly platform where they can access the training materials at their convenience, we have big plans to scale this initiative up and provide the necessary support for the teacher community.”
The university conducted the programme on a pro bono basis after it received an invitation by the Indonesian government and a group of educators.
The objective behind conducting such a programme was to strengthen international ties and setting up of a global collaborative network. Such programmes would help teachers understand and know different prospects of learning structure, also making relations strong with other countries.
The focus of the programme was ‘Communication Strategies for Effective Virtual Lessons’.
“Despite constraints, the MU L&D team structured the material with clarity, humour, and accuracy. They set a perfect pace for both beginners and advanced practitioners. We especially appreciated how inclusive they were keeping everyone on track and addressing questions effectively,” added the Ministry of Higher Education, East Indonesia.
