As per US media reports, Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested on charges of failure to appear as per a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office report. However, the rapper was released from custody around three hours after being booked in. Talking about Tekashi 6ix9ine attack viral video, the rapper was seen helplessly defending himself while a group of men were assaulting him with kicks and fists inside the gym bathroom. Tekashi 6ix9ine was beaten so much that he started bleeding. The Tekashi 6ix9ine fight took place in the sauna of an LA Fitness. As per his attorney Lance Lazzaro, Tekashi 6ix9ine did not have security when he was attacked and he was beaten 'to a pulp' in the ambush. Furthermore, the 26-year-old rap artist, did his best to defend himself but was outnumbered by his attackers. After the manager of the gym heard the ruckus, he contacted police and emergency services. As per an American media outlet, the rapper's jaw, ribs and back were also injured in the violent incident.

It is pertinent to mention here that the rapper was released from custody from federal prison early in 2020 following his 2019 sentence in connection with racketeering. He had faced numerous charges including racketeering, attempted murder, possession of a firearm and assault with a weapon. He had faced a 47-year minimum sentence and maximum of life in prison in the case. However, 6ix9ine was released from prison in April 2020 over fears that he would catch COVID-19.
